‘Melty Pelvis’ Bodywork
MER Bodywork is a hands on therapeutic practice that works with the muscles, fascia, breath and nervous system. It honours the body as a path to deeper connection. It’s holistic and combines deep, sensitive physical touch with breath, movement, and emotional awareness.
These sessions will combine all my skills but the main component is hands on bodywork. .
They will not include internal pelvic work.
Although the pelvis region is the central focus, we can work with the whole body and interconnected areas such as the jaw, psoas, diaphragm.
This isn't massage in the conventional sense. It's slow, attuned, somatic touch that listens, invites presence and collaboration, and responds to what's actually present in your body rather than following a fixed routine. Sessions are grounded in consent, pacing, choice, and close attention to your nervous system capacity.
Touch is a collaboration (meaning you're not passive) and how much of your ‘history’ you share with me is down to you. I refer to this form of bodywork as therapy for the tissues , which is why I think it's supportive for women navigating trauma recovery, women who tend to fawn, struggle relationally, feel unheard, struggle with boundaries, or who carry tension that feels linked to an emotional pattern. Personally I found bodywork to be incredibly supportive in my own pelvic trauma recovery, it’s where the name ‘melty pelvis’ originated.
No two sessions are the same, because no two bodies are the same. Drawing on my training across somatic trauma therapy, MER bodywork, biodynamic breathwork, and nervous system work, each session is composed for what your body is asking for that day. Sometimes it feels like a sweet holding. Sometimes it's a journey into something deeper. It is both physical and emotional work, it's intuitive, while still working in alignment with your goals.
Bodywork is all external. Should you wish to explore internal work, please check the Pelvic Care page
Why the pelvis:
The pelvis holds a huge amount for women:
Stress
Intrusive Medical procedures
Medical / Birth / Sexual Trauma
Imprints from birth experiences
Imprints from sexual experiences
Emotional holding
Years of bracing and protection (pain or tension)
Over time this can create tension, misalignment, numbness or disconnection in the pelvic space and the core of who we are. But it’s also a powerful space that holds joy, erotic capacity, pleasure, it helps us feel grounded and rooted in our lives and bodies. It brings aliveness and this work can help contribute to our overall pelvic health.
"It's hard to put into words how the bodywork session was. I feel like it reignited a connection between myself and my body in such a gentle soothing way and my body felt like it came more alive as we moved through the session. Lydia was unreal at creating such a safe space for work that can get very intimate. I felt that every movement she made, every element of touch was done with such intention and care. She communicated with me throughout so I knew what was going on and told me how to work with her to get the most out of the different positions. I wouldn't think twice about booking in another session."
"This was my first experience of bodywork and wow, it felt absolutely magic. I felt so many layers of myself unwinding and releasing, especially in my jaw, which can feel so tight and achy where I hold so much tension. It was wonderful to simply explore and be held so lovingly in this collaborative exploration of my body and nervous system. Lydia's hands truly feel like love. I felt really safe, deeply held, and so looked after throughout."
"I booked for a bodywork session and it was beautiful. Lydia works so authentically and intuitively... I attended with the intention to gift some touch, listen to myself, love myself and I left the session literally on cloud 9... Experiencing love, compassion, sadness, openness, contraction, grounding, creativity, light and just so incredibly held. Lydia you are an incredible practitioner! I can not ever thank you enough... Your ability to hold space for ALL that arises is so authentic and safe."

“I was surprised by how my body seemed to open up and welcome the touch. It felt so healing to experience my body trusting enough to release. I also noticed numb parts of my body coming alive with tingles and twitches, as though things that had been dormant were waking up. At different points I felt emotional and was able to connect with my grief, with images and memories of my mum arising throughout the session. Rather than feeling overwhelmed, I felt able to simply be with it. I left feeling grounded, aligned, and more connected to my body than I had in a long time. Our bodies hold so much of our truth, and what a gift it is to be supported in gently connecting with and holding what has been carried for so long. I also slept like a dream last night. I can't wait to do more work with Lydia and would wholeheartedly recommend her”
Just wanted to quickly let you know how beneficial the scar work you did has been for me. The scar is much less purple and inflamed than it was and I've had much less pain with training! Such a good result, only shame is I don't live closer! Thank you so much.
