Pelvic Care
Pelvic care is specialist internal work that reaches the pelvic floor, fascia and genital tissue from within, supporting the body to release what's been held there so vitality, aliveness and a deeper connection to yourself can be formed.
The pelvis is central part of the body and a spot that holds a huge amount for women, stress, trauma, birth experiences, sexual experiences, emotional holding, years of bracing and protection. Over time this can create tension, misalignment, numbness or disconnection. Something that’s often called "armour". The way the body and the tissue holds onto pain and tension when something was experienced that the body, psyche, nervous system never got to fully process.
Pelvic Care focuses on internal work that works with areas of tension, numbness and disconnection in the pelvic floor, vaginal and genital tissue, and surrounding fascia. Never by forcing but by inviting the body to open in its own time. Always explained in advance, always consented to separately, and only ever offered once trust and readiness are actually present.
De-armouring in the genital and pelvic area is particularly effective for women carrying sexual / birth trauma, have chronic tension, internal scar tissue or living with numbness, disconnection, or a felt sense of shutdown in this part of the body. It works by opening the connection between mind and body, so what's been held in the tissue has somewhere to go. Often easing tension, restoring sensation, and supporting a return to pleasure along the way.
If you're looking for external, hands-on work instead, see BODYWORK.
The Pelvis is often left out of a deeper conversation in somatic work, or symptoms / struggles are dismissed and even accepted. The pelvis is often treated in isolation, without thought given to the deeper connection it may have in how a woman inhabit’s her body.
Pelvic care can support:
Pelvic or vaginal/anal tension, pain, or a pelvis that's never fully felt like "yours"
Numbness, disconnection, or a felt sense of shutdown in the genitals, anus and pelvic area
Scar tissue within the genitals
Chronic protective holding or bracing in the pelvic floor
Sexual trauma held in the pelvic or genital tissue
Difficulty with penetration, or pain during sex
Disconnection from arousal, sensation, or pleasure
A desire for a deeper, more embodied relationship with your pelvis
Somatic sexology practices such as pelvic, pleasure and genital mapping or autonomy work, beautifully support and blend with internal pelvic work (always with discussion and consent). This work is integrative, holistic and supportive of the whole woman.
What happens in a session
1. Intake & consultation Every session begins with a real conversation about your history, what's present, and what you're hoping for. Internal work is never assumed. It's explained fully, and only ever offered and hands in work never happens within a first session.
2. Pelvic work: We start with and stick to external pelvic work until the time feels right for you and we both agree a shift to hands-in support. This is gentle, gloved internal work, working with the pelvic floor, fascia and connective tissue from within. You guide the process and the depth from start to finish, both of us remain clothed and you will be offered blankets when genital or internal work is happening.
3. Autonomy always. This is a co-collaboration, where I follow your pace, your body and your direction at all times. This isn’t passive work, you can pause, stop and redirect me at any point during the session. Autonomy, agency and consent underpin everything that unfolds during this work.
Please note: I'm currently enrolled onto an advanced sexuality practitioner training in arousal, dysfunction and de-armouring with The Gaia Method, beginning January 2027. I'm fully qualified and insured to offer internal work as a trained sexological bodyworker, this period is about deepening this specialism further in preparation.
Sessions price: £100 for 90minutes
Pelvic care FAQ

No. It's only ever offered when it's clinically and relationally appropriate, and only after it's been fully discussed and agreed. You can decline, or withdraw consent at any point, without needing to explain why.
-
Pelvic care is a holistic, hands-on approach that works with the muscles, fascia, and nervous system of the pelvis. not just the pelvic floor muscles in isolation. Pelvic physio focuses mostly on strength and function, Pelvic care also holds space for the emotional, energetic and somatic dimensions of pelvic health.

This work is held knowing there may be pelvic trauma present. Pace, consent and your agency come first, always. You're never required to share your history for the work to help. Also, I’m a trained psychotherapist meaning I’m able to hold space for any material that may arise.

They can overlap but In short sexological bodywork teaches, de-armouring releases. Many women benefit from both, at different points in their process, and personally I believe both blend beautifully given the cross over.

Not in the way you might expect. This isn't erotic massage, and it isn't sexual. It's therapeutic, consent-led, hands in bodywork that works with tension, numbness and disconnection held in the pelvic and genital tissue. That said, pleasure and sensation can be part of what returns as the body releases what it's been holding, reconnecting with a feeling is often part of the healing itself, not the goal of the session. Pelvic care does not focus on activating pleasure however should it arise, it’s normalised the same as another emotion or sensation.
